Introductions - Ripley and Cleo
We have a couple new kids on the block who haven't been introduced. The first is Ripley (named by my daughter), an Adori by Haru Casting. She has been here about a month, and is patiently waiting for faceups (weather is not yet permitting), but her 2 adorable faces are sweet as can be, even blank!
And just yesterday, Cleo arrived to wish me a happy birthday! She is a Dollsbe "Be With You" Amond.
I think these 2 are going to have lots of adventures together!
Ripley and Cleo are both wearing versions of the "Toronto Island Hoodie", a knitting pattern I plan to release later this week.

Cabbagetown Jacket (New Knitting Pattern for American Girl, Maplelea and Other 18" Play Dolls)
I recently released a new jacket pattern for 18" dolls. Even dolls need to stay warm in this cold weather!
The Cabbagetown Jacket is knit seamlessly, from the top down, in sport weight yarn. No sewing up is required! Knit a classic jacket in a solid or heathered colour or use a self-patterning yarn for a different, fun look. The jacket buttons up the front with working buttons and buttonholes. The collar and body of the jacket are knit back and forth, and the sleeves are knit in the round. The jacket will fit 18”-19” soft body play dolls. The jackets in the pattern are shown on American Girl and Maplelea dolls. Because the jacket is knit from the top down, it is easy to change the body and sleeve length to fit your particular doll.
The solid colour jacket in the picture was knit with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport and the variegated version was knit with ONline Supersocke 6-Ply. The pattern is available in my Ravelry, Etsy and Craftsy shops.
The pattern for the Cabbagetown Jacket is available on Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy.
If you decide to knit the Cabbagetown Jacket, I would love to see your version!

Henry Makes Herself at Home
Henry has been with us a couple of weeks and is starting to make herself at home. I knit her a cozy sweater and she has started to put up some posters and unpack her National Geographic collection. I think my favourite think about collecting dolls is figuring out their personalities and making all their stuff.

Meet the Manta Ray Family - New Knitting Pattern!
Every year I make Christmas Eve gifts for my 2 kids. This year, Jaybird's gift included a cute little manta ray pencil topper.
What started out as one manta ray quickly turned into several, and now there is a whole family: Charles, Martha, and Little Sunny Ray.
They work as finger puppets (they don't bite too hard), pencil/marker toppers and desk buddies.
If you are looking for a quick, quirky knit, the pattern for the Manta Ray Family is available on Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy.

A New Friend
Albert helped Freddie clean up the lemonade stand disaster and the two of them headed off for a picnic. Freddie decided a new friend was better than a new bell.

Lemonade Stand Disaster!
It was really hot yesterday, so Freddie increased the price and was doing quite a good business until this crazy rabbit from 1 block over came whizzing by on his skateboard and knocked everything over!

Freddie Goes into Business
Freddie has set up a lemonade stand to earn money for a bell for his bike. He thinks business would be better if he didn't live on a dead end street.

Queen Street Jacket for Littlefee
The Queen Street Jacket is knit seamlessly, from the top down, in fingering weight yarn. No sewing up is required! The jacket fastens with sew-on snaps. There are no buttonholes, so you can decide when you are finished knitting the number and size of decorative buttons you would like on your jacket.
The jacket will fit Littlefee ball jointed dolls. It may also fit other “YOSD” sized dolls, but it has only been tested on Littlefee. Because the jacket is knit from the top down, it is easy to change the body and sleeve length to fit your particular doll.

Rambler Sweaters and Hats for 18" American Girl Dolls
The Rambler Sweaters are knit seamlessly, from the top down, in sport weight yarn. Instructions for regular and a-line versions are included.
The pocket on the a-line version is knit in as you go. The sweaters close with buttons at the back for easy dressing.
The Rambler Hats are almost seamless - there is a small seam at the back of the garter stitch band. The ear flaps are created with short rows (row-by-row instructions are given for the short rows, and no “picking up wraps” is required).
If you are a beginner knitter and don’t feel you are ready to knit the star on the front of the regular sweater or the striped sleeves of the a-line version, just ignore those instructions. Your sweater will still be very cute!
The pattern for the Rambler Sweaters and Hats can be found at Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy.

Butterfly Short Sleeve Cardigan for 18" American Girl Dolls
The “Butterfly” Short Sleeve Cardigan is knit seamlessly, in fingering weight yarn. The texture at the bottom of the cardigan is created with 2 different slip stitch patterns - Lattice and Mock Honeycomb. The body of the cardigan is knit from the bottom up and the set-in sleeves are knit from the top down, in the round, using short rows. “Butterfly” is the perfect sweater for school, a walk in the woods or maybe even for chasing some butterflies!
The body of the cardigan is knit back and forth, but the sleeves are knit in the round using double pointed needles or 2 circular needles.
Knitting set-in sleeves using short row shaping may be unfamiliar to some. I have included row by row instructions for the short rows, including stitch counts. Instructions for wrapping stitches and picking up wraps are also included. This small sweater is a good opportunity to give this nifty technique a try!
The cardigan is shown on American Girl dolls, but will fit other 18” (46 cm) play dolls with about an 11” (28 cm) chest circumference.
The pattern for the Butterfly Cardigan is available on Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy.
